"Off-Grid" with the Camper: Self-Sufficient Adventures with Beijs Roadtrips

Are you ready to escape the daily hustle and truly enjoy freedom and nature? Then go “off grid” with a camper from Beijs Roadtrips Motorhome Rental! Our campers are perfectly equipped for a self-sufficient holiday, allowing you to be independent of public utilities. But what exactly does “off grid” mean?

What does “off grid” mean?

“Off grid” refers to a lifestyle where you are independent of public utilities like electricity, water, and gas. It’s all about self-sufficiency. While our campers are not 100% off grid, they come very close. With our campers, you can comfortably enjoy 3 to 4 days of off-grid adventures without relying on external facilities.

How does off-grid camping work with our campers?

Charging System and Solar Panels

Engine Battery: Powers the vehicle (12V) and ensures you can always drive off. Leisure Battery: Powers the living area and is charged in two ways:

  • Our campers are equipped with both an engine battery and a leisure battery: While Driving: The engine battery charges while driving. Once it’s full, the leisure battery is charged.
  • Solar Panel: A sustainable solar panel continuously charges the leisure battery.
Gas System
The integrated gas system allows you to:
  • Cook: The gas stove in the kitchen makes it easy to prepare delicious meals.
  • Heat the Camper: Thanks to the ring heating system, you can keep the camper comfortably warm. Simply set your desired temperature on the control panel, and the gas heating will take care of the rest.
  • Get Hot Water: For a hot shower or washing up, you can heat water in the boiler. Just ensure the gas bottle is open and set the right option on the control panel. In 20 minutes, you’ll have hot water.
Water Management

Every camper is equipped with:

  • A Fresh Water Tank: For cooking, showering, brushing your teeth, and flushing the toilet.
  • A Waste Water Tank: This collects all the used water that drains from sinks or the shower.
  • A Toilet Cassette: For waste water from the toilet.

You can easily empty the waste water tank and toilet cassette at designated dump stations on campsites, camper stops, or even at some gas stations. These locations can be found on the apps included with our free tablet. The toilet cassette can be emptied at a chemical disposal point.

The Absorption Fridge: Always Cool, Wherever You Are.
  • Our campers are equipped with an absorption fridge that:
  • Works almost silently.
  • Automatically switches between power sources (12V while driving, 230V when plugged into power, or gas when no electricity is available).
  • Keeps your food and drinks cool even during off-grid adventures. Note: Don’t forget to open the gas bottle when the fridge runs on gas.
